For this project, I wanted to create a romantic scene as both my stepfather, and mother hold hands and look out into the night sky as they witness the moon and shooting stars pass by. Each layer is a moving layer while using video from the porch and the moving photos from the night sky. While time seems to move the same from where they sit, they look beyond the night sky to see the wonders of space, and to share those wonders with each other. The moon was borrowed from the library of congress, the comets were drawn in through after effects, and the sounds were used from the Youtube Creator Studio audio library.
1) Avery’s transformative portrait shows his parents sharing a cozy, romantic evening together on their porch. The flickering fire provides a nice ambient light as it illuminates the couple and their surroundings. In the background, shooting stars fly by as well as a giant moon.
ReplyDelete2) This portrait is definitely very romantic and highlights the warmth of married life. The couple holds hand, though they both face away from the viewer one can still see how comfortable they are with one another. The setting of the porch also reiterates the themes of coziness and family. The shooting stars also highlight the idea of wishing—possibly for a happy future or one of great abundance for their family.
3) I like the image of the couple holding hands, however I feel that maybe they seem to be too far apart. I feel the two huddled close would have been a better representation of the romantic themes. Also, since the couple is pictured with their backs facing the viewer in a dark space, they aren’t easily identifiable. As a portrait, maybe it would be beneficial to bring in more light to show more details about the two?
4) The flickering lights are very lifelike and it works well to set the scene! I do wish maybe it was a little more subtle as the light feels too flashy at times. There also seems to be a camera blur effect in the video as well, along with the flashy lights it feels a little too straining on the eyes. I love the animation on the comets though they’re very fluid like real shooting stars. The enlarged moon is another great touch as well!
5) This portrait captures a hope within every person: a warm, loving home to come back to with the ones you love. The atmosphere is cozy, the scenery is beautiful, and it carries the themes of love and wishing for a wonderful future. This image was shared with us to spread joy, I feel like.
