His art frequently combines elements of the fantastical and surreal, fusing the worlds of dreams and imagination with reality. Robison's use of forced perspective is one of his signature artistic styles. He creates scenes that defy reality by deftly manipulating scale and depth to give commonplace objects remarkable appearances. Robison's use of perspective tricks allows him to draw viewers into his fantastical universe, where commonplace scenes acquire a magical character. The skill with which Robison tells stories is another outstanding feature of his work. Every picture tells a tale, stimulating the viewer's imagination and arousing feelings. Whether it's an imaginative tableau of a small figure interacting with enormous objects or a strange, enigmatic environment, Robison's artwork allows viewers to invent their own stories and meanings.

In order to realize his visions, Robison uses a combination of computer alteration and photography. He meticulously considers lighting, composition, and details when composing each shot. He then uses post-processing techniques to improve his images, adding layers of color and texture to give them depth and mood. The whimsy of Robison's artwork is also enhanced by his use of costumes and props. He frequently uses commonplace objects in his compositions, transforming them into fanciful components that give his shots charm and individuality. Whether it's a book converted into a magical doorway or a teacup made into a hot air balloon, Robison's inventive use of props gives his work a surprising and delightful quality.

Joel Robison's inventive storytelling, whimsical charm, and deft use of forced perspective are traits that define his artwork overall. His skill with photography and digital editing allows him to create magical scenes that immerse viewers in an infinitely creative realm.
