Night Prowler - Alissa Davis

This piece is all about breaking the mold and following your own path.  For my process, I knew what concept I wanted to do, so I really tried to explore the composition of the piece by slowly narrowing down the location, then taking photos at different angles to get the right composition.

  1. The use of one point perspective in this is what really sets the stage. Your use of faded versions of yourself not just walking beside you but frantically dispersed in all directions is an interesting exaggeration of your narrative. I also find the use of light in both the lighting, which almost represents will power in how to move apart from you mold as visually intoxicating. I do wish it showed the lighting stemming from you, along with the lights overhead being brighter in succession, like the light at the end of the tunnel being brightest. I think the original photos contrast was strong, and the lights made the image flatter and less dramatic. Making it darker and the light more purposeful would lean further into your message. But overall the work successfully tell the story you set it to.
