    1. This piece is extremely bright! At first glance, I see an extreme firework finale. The setting is a beach. The point of view is someone who is walking on a pier and just stepping down to the beach when they see this firework show starting. There are two people at the bottom at the composition, both standing on opposite sides. These figures look so small compared to what's happening above.
The setting feels so large. It almost feels as if the artist is trying to show how small we are as humans. It also creates this extremely bright composition. It feels as though this lit up the whole beach. The fireworks themselves have great motion and movement. You can feel it actively going off as you watch it, it resembles an explosion.
This composition is very well done, to the point where it feels like this actually happened. The artist carefully chose which fireworks to include and layered them in a way that separated and complemented each other. The green fire work in the top right is an example of this. That section wasn't full to begin with and the artist put that there to create balance in this composition. The smoke trails were added in an effective way, it shows movement and creates direction for the eyes to lead up. The foreground of the beach and the humans was a great touch, it elongates the piece and makes it feel that much bigger, as well as resolves the bottom, and gives a good resting point.
I feel that this photo could have multiple meanings, as stated in the first paragraph, it could be that we as humans are so small. This person seems to have just been walking and just so happened to catch the end of a beautiful firework show. Playing devil's advocate, it could also mean something completely different. Fireworks are beautiful but are very helpful to the environment. The powders left in the air after are harmful. The sound as well is known to scare a lot of creatures and pets. This could be showcasing that, and how large of a problem they can be.
Overall, no matter the meaning, this piece shows light in such a beautiful way. Layers are placed to create movement and depth. The fireworks are so large and with the ocean in the background you can only assume how big that in itself is. I think this was executed very well, and does a good job keeping your eye out as an artist, you never know when you may need to whip out your camera.
