Viktoria Solidarnyh is a digital compositing artist who utilizes Photoshop to craft scenes reminiscent of classic fairytales, seamlessly merging multiple photographs to achieve a realistic effect. Drawing inspiration from timeless tales, she reimagines them, using her own narrative and bringing these stories to life with authenticity.
Emphasizing the composition of her pieces, she employs masking techniques and cool color palettes to evoke a fairytale ambiance. By integrating numerous photographs of real-world animals and people, she brings to life scenes reminiscent of fairy tales, as seen in the final image featuring the tiger. Notably, her works often have heightened tone levels, characterized by bright and vibrant colors. We can see the saturation and the temperature change from the original photos and the final composite. Every aspect of her compositions is marked by an exaggerated vibrancy almost making them animated, contributing to the captivating allure of her imagery.
I chose this artist because I was keeping my eye out for something regarding animals and a fairy tale aesthetic. Really enjoy the way her pieces are intricately put together and the thought process for all of them. I can make out what is happening in all her photos. For my project I plan to incorporate the fairy tale ambiance, especially with the wildlife. I would like to make it a bit more dramatic, possibly adding scale to the picture or a sense of power with the subject rather than friendly, such as the second picture. I almost want the subject to "have the final word" in a sense for a gain in power with the strong wild animals.
