For this project I took inspiration from my love of music,
When I listen to music, I can imagine music flowing around me. That's where I
got the idea to bring the music notes to life. After critique, I implemented
music and utilized motion marks differently rather than focusing on the subject.
I also synchronized the music to match the music notes better. Rather than the
harsh lighting in the original image I edited the lighting and created a more
dramatic scene. The motion marks are one common element in music videos, and I
felt that it would make the portrait more eye-catching. I added a glow effect on the motion marks as well. To add depth to the
composition I manipulated the scale to show the music notes moving throughout the
composition. Movement from the foreground to the middle ground to the background helped to make this
composition more interactive with the surrounding environment. The main idea I
wanted to convey was bringing music to life and flowing out the headphones into
the atmosphere.

This image created by Aliyah Valcin, shows a girl with headphones on listening to music, she is on UNCC by the pond next to rowe, the moving part of the image is music notes that go across the image with some music as well. There is a spot light on her to help emphasize her as the main part of the image.
ReplyDeleteI am assuming the person in the image likes music, you can see the look of peace on her face and the image revolves around music so I think that is a fair assumption. The music also adds a serene vibe and feel to the image. The image gives the feeling of serenity as well as a great love for music.
The visual clues help show the viewer that this image is about music, I think the image could have focused on the girl a little more to give it more of a portrait look, for example maybe making the music notes go around her and then back up and around the building in the back. It is definitely transformative though.
The motion help the viewers look at the image more in depth and allow them to think more about the music the person is listening to as well as what kind of music the viewer likes to listen. The motion highlights the main idea of the image and brings the image together nicely.
This work emphasizes music which is a big part of our culture especially in todays society. Music allows people to dive and express their feelings in ways they can't like the beat and the feel of it. Music in general is a very expressive thing that many people of our generation appreciate.
In conclusion, I think this image was done really well and give a serene feel and allow the viewer to think more about music. The image highlights the girl with the spotlight but I think she could be highlighted a little more by being brought more into the image as well as making the music going around her then around the building.
