For my project, I am taking inspiration from the graphic designer Siyana. Siyana is a freelance graphic designer that resides in Barcelona, Spain. He is a typography designer, though not widely known, his style and works are well crafted and he is widely popular on social media. His designs are based around multiple subjects, but he mainly uses people and shoes in his works. His style is based heavily on typography with the the subject being displayed within or around the text with a strong y2k aesthetic.
One of his works that influenced me to choose his was the nike shoe design that I listed for his works. This design interested me because it combines classic sneaker elements with a fresh, artistic twist that feels both bold and contemporary. I’m drawn to how it merges unexpected graphic details with a retro kind of aesthetic. I also like the sense of movement that the flame motif brings, giving it a strong, dynamic kind of style.
In my own project, I aim to take inspiration from Siyana’s work by exploring his graphic motifs and trying to capture that y2k, bold aesthetic. I plan to experiment with different themes, perhaps drawing from natural elements like waves or abstract shapes, to bring a distinct personality to some of the designs. I want to explore a similar color-blocking approach, using unexpected color combinations that reflect modern streetwear aesthetics.
