Architectural Blend: Courtney Huston

The concept behind my work was to combine elements from my childhood home with architectural components from my grandparents' home and neighborhood in New York and blend them in a dreary and fantastical manner. As a child, I thought the houses in New York looked like castles, which felt somewhat daunting yet comforting at the time, which is why I went for the more eerie feel. Even though the homes were very different in style, I wanted to blend the two places because both felt like home to me.
