My original concept for my Architectural Blend was to show the transition from living at home to staying on a college campus. Holshouser Hall in South Village was my first "home away from home", since I had never lived anywhere except my childhood house. I also wanted to express the density of residence halls by including a crowd entering the building. I was also experimenting with the halftone filter to accentuate the highlights and shadows in the piece. The brick-red color is inspired by UNC Charlotte's use of the material on campus.
