  1. In your two works I see a cohesive theme that seems to play off of each other. It almost appears that a story is being told in sequence. I see that the same color pallet is shared between these two works. When viewing these two together they go hand in hand, and im curious if you'll continue on with this narrative in you other final portfolio works. I really enjoy how this tells a story. I also liked the color choices, the pink and blue/green, it catches the viewers attention against the black and grey background, having a more vibrant color present. On the first piece you created this depth of field in the crack continuing on in the distance. It helps the ground not appear too flat. From the concept aspect, your work shows intention instead of interpretation, this is what makes it feels almost story like. From a photoshop standpoint, the shadow for the man with the flag was a nice touch, and also how you darken his space suit to better match the atmospheric lighting around him was great. My only critique would be on the second image using more outer glow on the light beams coming out of the planet, but I still think it looks really good!
I think these works are successful, but more successful when they are presented together. I think your stronger piece is the first one, because of the depth of field present, but also your second one feels balanced with the centering of the planet, and light beams coming from the center. I think that having a narrative unfold in your pieces would be interesting to see in your final portfolio, but also remember to have a cohesive group of work (like you've shown here), but also pieces that can be viewed and interpreted on their own. I really enjoyed these two works, they might be my favorite that youve done.
